These works explore issues of color in the way it is manipulated to create light and space and define shape and form.

In these paintings I was intentionally impulsive with color and placement. This way of working has an inherent visual logic that is clear when the painting is finished.

Different moods within restricted dimensions. Square and double square formats require a different pictorial approach.

These bare bone images are the direct, unconscious result of spending a week in the Winter Arizona desert. Never has my work been so affected by place in such an unexpected and profound manner.

Color and shape influenced by light qualities characteristic of Northern California and Arizona informs much of this abstract work.
